Azerbaijan's export of cotton yarn in 1Q2020 grows

Azerbaijan's export of fruit and vegetables amounted to $113.3 million from January through March 2020, increasing by 9.5 percent compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to the Export Review of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) on April 29.

During the reporting period, export of plastic and its products amounted to $46.4 million, aluminum and its products - $21.4 million, cotton fiber - $43.4 million, chemical products - $19.8 million, electricity - $17.8 million, ferrous metals and its products - $11.9 million, cotton yarn - $8.6 million, alcoholic and soft beverages - $4.3 million, and sugar – $2.9 million.

Export of cotton yarn increased by 34.4 percent, chemical products - by 12.5 percent, ferrous metals and its products - by 2.5 percent, aluminum and its products – decreased by 4 percent, and plastics and its products - by 4.1 percent.

In 2019, non-oil export of Azerbaijan exceeded $1.7 billion, which is $16 million, or 10 percent more compared to 2018.
