Azerbaijan’s Expressbank increases total capital

As of the end of the first quarter of 2020, Azerbaijan’s Expressbank increased its total liabilities by 2.9 percent, up to 230.7 million manat ($135.7 million), Trend reports referring to the bank's balance sheet.

The biggest share in the structure of liabilities (64.1 percent) accounted for the deposits, which decreased by 15.1 percent and amounted to 147.9 million manat ($87 million). Of them, more than 84.8 percent accounted for the deposits of individuals, which decreased by 12.1 percent up to 125.4 million manat ($73.8 million). The deposits of legal entities accounted for 15.2 percent - 22.5 million manat ($13.2 million) decreasing by 28.5 percent compared to the first quarter of 2019.

The liabilities to the Azerbaijani Central Bank (CBA), credit organizations and other financial institutions increased for the year and amounted to 40.8 million manat ($24 million). The issued debt securities amounted to 13.9 million manat ($8.2 million) - 6.1 percent of all liabilities. Other liabilities amounted to 27.9 million manat that’s $16.4 million (an increase of 2.9 times).

According to the report, the bank’s equity remained unchanged and amounted to 112.5 million manat ($66.2 million). The uncovered loss amounted to 4.3 million manat ($2.5 million), an increase by 5.86 percent for the year. The capital reserves amounted to 3.7 million manat that’s $2.2 million (an increase of 11 percent).

The total capital amounted to 120.6 million manat ($70.9 million), an increase of 5.4 percent.
