Construction materials worth 203.9 million manat ($119.9 million) were produced in Azerbaijan from January through April 2020, which is 4.5 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing data of the State Statistical Committee on May 22.
The volume of production of building gypsum amounted to 4,700 tons having increased nearly three times in the reporting period, building bricks – 141,200 cubic meters, an increase of 6.8 percent, and of ready-mixed concrete – 461,400 tons, an increase of 9.9 percent. The volume of production of marble, travertine, alabaster and their products halved, amounting to 5 million tons. The production volume of prefabricated concrete structures amounted to 13.5 cubic meters, showing a decrease of 4.3 percent.
Over the reporting period, there was a two-fold reduction in the production of asphalt to 46,800 tons and cement - by 8.7 percent to 911,400 tons. A decrease of 3.3 times was observed in the production of building blocks and bricks made of cement, artificial stone and concrete, amounting to 13,500 tons.
