A total of 108.5 million transfers worth 422.7 billion tenge ($1.06 billion) were made via services of Kazakhstan’s payment organizations in 1Q2020, Trend reports with reference to the data of Kazakhstan’s National Bank.
The value increased by 6.4 percent in 1Q2020 compared to 1Q2019. Seventy-one percent of the sum accounted for paying mobile operators services, 19 percent for payment of various types of services, 6 percent to pay for utilities, 2 percent for payment of goods and 2 percent for other types of payments.
Every second transfer was carried out by depositing cash through payment terminals and cash desks, 39 percent of payments were initiated and made online.
The operators of 22 electronic money systems out of 27 electronic money systems operating in Kazakhstan are payment organizations.
The results of 1Q2020 said that transactions worth 75.6 billion tenge ($190.1 million) were carried out through the services of payment organizations, which is 70 percent of the turnover of all functioning electronic money systems.
As of May 1, 2020, 62 payment organizations were operating in Kazakhstan.
