Azerbaijan details its five-month GDP

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13

The major part of Azerbaijan’s GDP (37.3 percent) accounted for industrial sector from January through May 2020, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee.

Some 11.2 percent of the country’s GDP accounted for trade and repair of vehicles, 7.5 percent - for transport and storage, 5.5 percent - for construction, 4.8 percent - for agriculture, forestry and fishery, 2.1 percent - the for hotel business and catering, 1.7 percent - information and communications, and 18.9 percent – for other sectors.

Net tax revenues from product imports made up 10.6 percent of the country’s GDP.

In the first 5 months of 2020, Azerbaijan’s GDP increased by 0.2 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 22.4 billion manat ($13.1 billion). In the oil and gas sector of the economy, value added increased by 1.5 percent, while in the non-oil sector, it decreased by 0.8 percent.

Meanwhile, GDP per capita stood at 2,249.7 manat ($1,323.3).
