Import share in trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Czech Republic doubles

The foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic amounted to $182.1 million from January through May 2020, which is almost twofold less than in the same period of last year, Trend reports on June 26 referring to the statistics bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

In accordance with the data, Azerbaijani products worth $162.3 million were exported to the Czech Republic from January through May 2020 compared to almost $332 million in the same period of 2019.

Thus, on an annualized basis, the Czech Republic purchased less products from Azerbaijan (a twofold decrease). The Czech Republic's share in total export volume of Azerbaijan also decreased by about 1.52 percentage points.

The import of the Czech Republic’s products to Azerbaijan grew year on year by $328 million up to $19.7 million.

The Czech Republic's share in Azerbaijan’s total import volume increased by about 0.14 percentage points up to 0.47 percent of the total volume.

In general, the ratio of export-import in foreign trade relations between the two countries from January through May 2020 is still inclined towards the export of the Azerbaijani products to the Czech Republic.

So, the ratio of export to import was 94.5 percent and 5.5 percent from January through May 2019, while from January through May 2020 - 89 percent and 11 percent, respectively.

Thus, the share of import of the Czech Republic into Azerbaijan doubled by 5.5 percentage points. The balance of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic during the reporting period decreased and amounted to $142.6 million.

In general, the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan amounted to $11.1 billion from January through May 2020, which is 22.9 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis increased by 0.9 percent and remained positive, amounting to $2.8 billion.
