The total volume of public securities transactions on the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) amounted to over 2.9 billion manat ($1.7 billion) from January through June 2020 against 6.6 billion manat ($3.9 billion) in the same period of the last year, and their number made up 678, Trend reports referring to the BSE data.
As a result, the total volume of operations carried out in the first half of 2020 plunged by 2.2 times year on year.
Among the conducted transactions, 391 transactions worth over 2.5 billion manat ($1.4 billion) were conducted in the primary market. As many as 287 operations totaling 438 million manat ($257.6 million) accounted for the secondary market of public securities.
REPO transactions on public securities amounted to 711.3 million manat ($418.4 million). In total, 440 repo transactions on public securities were carried out at BSE from January through June 2020, which is 196 repo transactions more than during the first 6 months of 2019.
