Value of legal entities' deposits in Kazakhstan surges

The volume of deposits in Kazakhstan’s deposit organizations amounted to 20.6 trillion tenge ($49.4 billion) in July 2020, which is 4.1 percent more compared to June 2020, Trend reports with reference to the data of Kazakhstan’s National Bank.

Deposits of legal persons increased in value by 5.2 percent to 10.7 trillion tenge ($25.5 billion), whereas deposits of physical persons increased by 3 percent to 9.9 trillion tenge ($23.8 billion).

In turn, value of deposits denominated in national currency (tenge) increased by 4.9 percent in a month to 12.5 trillion tenge ($29.8 billion), whereas value of deposits denominated in foreign currency decreased by 3 percent to 8.1 trillion tenge ($19.5 billion).

Tenge denominated deposits of legal entities increased by 6.5 percent in July 2020 having amounted to 6.6 trillion tenge ($15.7 billion), whereas foreign currency denominated deposits of legal entities increased by 3.3 percent to 4.09 trillion tenge ($9.7 billion).

Meanwhile, tenge denominated deposits of physical entities increased by 3.1 percent to 5.8 trillion tenge ($14.08 billion), whereas foreign currency denominated deposits of physical entities increased by 2.7 percent to 4.08 trillion tenge ($9.7 billion).

Value of time deposits amounted to 14.2 trillion tenge ($34.09 billion), having increased by 5.7 percent in July 2020 compared to June 2020.

Weighted average remuneration rate on time deposits of non-bank legal entities in tenge amounted to 7.5 percent in July 2020 compared to 7.2 percent in July 2019, whereas weighted average remuneration rate on deposits of physical entities was 10 percent compared to 9.7 percent in July 2019.
