Due to the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 on individuals, the Georgian government will allocate 60 million lari to subsidize utility bills for the population, Trend reports via Georgian media.
According to the draft budget, 60 million lari ($18.8 million) is part of the anti-crisis plan developed by the government.
The reimbursement for electricity consumption up to 200 kW will start in November 2020 and remain in effect for 4 months.
According to the draft budget for 2021, the government is forecasting an improvement in tax revenues.
The tax plan for 2020 is set at 9 billion lari ($2.8 billion), and by 2021 tax revenues will increase to 10.45 billion lari ($3.2 billion).
The budget submitted by the government will be approved after the parliamentary elections.
