Turkmenistan has doubled the financial resources allocated for the purchase of Immunobiological medicine, Trend reports with reference to “Turkmenistan: Zolotoy Vek” (Turkmenistan: Golden Age) newspaper.
Financial resources were increased due to the plan for the procurement of vaccines and injecting equipment for immunization from 2021 through 2025 within the framework of "Memorandum of Understanding on the Provision of Procurement Services between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNICEF”, that was concluded in 2015.
According to the plan from 2016 through 2020, Turkmenistan continuously purchases important vaccines and other medicines from the state budget through the UNICEF Supply Division.
The key direction of the state policy of Turkmenistan in the medical sphere is the development of preventive activities of the health system.
Earlier, the Executive Board of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) approved the country program of Turkmenistan for 2021-2025, aimed at supporting the government in fulfilling its obligations to protect and implement children's rights.
