The value of deposits of Iranian banks with the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) increased by 17.7 percent in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 22-September 21) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing CBI.
According to the statistics, the value of deposits of Iranian banks with the Central Bank of Iran amounted to 564 trillion rials (about $13.4 billion) in the sixth month of the current Iranian year. However, this figure was 479 trillion rials (about $11.4 billion) in the same month last Iranian year.
“Furthermore, the debts of the state sector in Iran to the banks amounted to 1.07 quadrillion rials (about $25.5 billion) in the sixth month. This is an increase of 43.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
According to the statistics, in addition, the private sector's debts to Iranian banks amounted to about 3.16 quadrillion rials (about $75.1 billion) in the 6th month. This is an increase of 32.6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
Iranian banks' debts to the Central Bank of Iran amounted to 96.8 trillion rials (about $2.3 billion) in the sixth month, which is an increase of 138 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year," the statistics noted.
