Bank of Georgia continues to actively support business, Trend reports via Georgian media.

With the financial resources of the bank and in cooperation with Sioltec Ltd, intensive Italian apple, pear, and cherry orchards were planted on 3 hectares of land in the village of Sakasheti, Gori.

Some 2,600 apple trees, 1,600 pear trees, and 1,000 cherry trees were planted. As part of the project, the area was equipped with an irrigation system. The entrepreneur has already found a potential partner and plans to export the fruits produced.

The total cost of the project is over 260,000 lari ($77,582), of which the investments of the Bank of Georgia within the framework of the concessional agricultural lending amount to 220,000 lari ($65,646).

“We are glad that with the financial support of the bank, orchards were planted in the village of Sakasheti in Gori. We continue to actively support existing projects in the field of agriculture because we believe that their development will significantly strengthen the economy of the region and the country, ”said Merab Akhvlediani, Director of Retail Banking Services of the Bank of Georgia.
