Azerbaijan's deposits volume in national currency significantly increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 10

The total volume of deposits in Azerbaijan at the end of September 2020 amounted to 22.5 billion manats ($13.2 billion), which is four percent less than the same indicator of last year, Trend reports citing a report from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The volume of deposits of non-financial organizations decreased by 3.8 percent compared to September 2019, amounting to 12.64 billion manats ($7.44 billion).

As for the volume of deposits of individuals, there is a decrease by nine percent, which amounted to 7.83 billion manats ($4.61 billion).

As of September 2020, total deposits in foreign currency amounted to 12.95 billion manats ($7.62 billion), decreasing by 13.1 percent compared to the same period last year.

Also, there is a significant increase in deposits in the national currency, the volume of which increased by 11.7 percent compared to September 2019, reaching 9.545 billion manats ($562 million).
