Bank lending activity increases in Georgia

In the 3rd quarter of 2020, bank lending activity increased by 6 billion lari ($1.8 billion) compared to the same period of 2019 in Georgia, Trend reports via Georgian media.

In the reporting period, loans Georgian bank issued the loans in the amount of 36.2 billion lari ($10.9 billion) against 30.1 billion lari ($9.06 billion) a year ago.

In the third quarter of 2020, TBC Bank issued loans in the amount of 14.2 billion lari ($4.2 billion) while in the same period of 2019 – 11.6 billion lari ($3.4 billion). The loans in foreign currency account for 61 percent of the total loans.

In the reporting period, the Bank of Georgia issued loans in the amount of 12.6 billion lari ($3.7 billion) against 10.6 billion lari ($3.1 billion) in the same period of 2019. The loans in foreign currency account for 58.1 percent of the total loans.

Liberty Bank issued loans in the amount of 1.5 billion lari ($451.6 million) while in the same period of 2019 – 1.2 billion lari ($361.3 million). The loans in foreign currency account for 22.3 percent of the total loans.
