The volume of problem loans in Azerbaijan decreased by 27.3 percent or 378.4 million manat ($222.5 million) as of early November 2020 compared to the same period of 2020, making up 1.01 billion manat ($590 million), Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, the total loan portfolio of the banking sector and non-bank credit organizations grew by 2.35 percent, amounting to 14.78 billion manat ($8.69 billion).

The share of state-owned banks in issued loans amounted to 2.67 billion manat ($1.57 billion) or 18 percent of the total portfolio, private banks - 11.74 billion manat ($6.91 billion) or 79.4 percent, and NBCOs - 376.6 million manat ($221.5 million) or 2.5 percent.

The volume of loans issued in national currency in October 2020 was 10.2 billion manat ($6 billion), an increase of 8.9 percent compared to the same month of 2019, and their share in the loan portfolio of banks was 68.7 percent.

In foreign currency, loans were issued in the amount of 4.66 billion in manat equivalent ($2.74 billion), an annual decrease of 4.2 percent, with a specific weight of 31.3 percent.

The volume of short-term loans amounted to 1.72 billion manat ($1.01 billion) in national currency and 736 million manat ($432.9 million) in foreign currency. The volume of long-term loans amounted to 8.53 billion manat ($5.02 billion) and 3.8 billion manat ($2.24 billion).
