A total of 10.4 quadrillion rials (about $249 billion) worth of loans were issued to various economic sectors in Iran during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through November 20, 2020), Director General of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Abdolnasser Hemmati said, Trend reports citing the CBI.
The director-general stressed that about 30 percent of loans were issued in the industrial sector.
Hemmati added that about 59 percent of loans in various sectors in Iran were issued as working capital.
According to the six-month (March 20-September 21, 2020) statistics of the CBI, 6.97 quadrillion rials (about $166 billion) worth of loans was issued in various economic sectors in Iran. The number of loans increased by 82.3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
