Amount of loans issued in various sectors in Iran growing

The amount of loans issued in various sectors in Iran increased by 25 percent during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through January 20, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Abbas Memarnejad said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

Memarnejad noted that about 12 quadrillion rials (about $285 billion) worth of loans were issued in Iran over 10 months. While in the same period last Iranian year, this figure amounted to 9.7 quadrillion rials (about $230 billion).

The deputy minister added that 7 percent of loans were issued in agriculture, 29 percent in industry and mining, 6 percent in housing and construction, 18 percent in trade and 40 percent in services sectors.

“About 13 percent of these loans were issued for the creation of facilities, 12 percent for the development of facilities, 60 percent as for working capital, 3 percent for repairs, 9 percent for the purchase of personal assets and 3 percent for other purposes,” he said.
