The total volume of bank deposits of the Azerbaijani population amounted to 8.2 billion manat ($4.82 billion) in Jan. 2021, which is 4.5 percent or 385.5 million manat ($226.7 million) less compared to Jan. 2020, Trend reports citing the statistical report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
As of early February 2021, about 10.9 percent of all bank deposits in the country accounted for about 10.9 percent of all bank deposits in the country, the CBA report said.
About 49.3 percent or 4.05 billion manat ($2.38 billion) of all deposits in Azerbaijan at the beginning of February 2021 fell on the national currency, the report reads.
In Baku, the total volume of deposits amounted to over 7.3 billion manat ($4.2 billion), of which 3.27 billion ($1.92 billion) - in national currency (44.8 percent).
At the same time, the average annual deposit rate in the entire country at the beginning of February 2021 amounted to 3.08 percent, in Baku - 2.99 percent.
