The committee noted that 85.6 percent of registered cars work on gasoline. Some 12.2 percent of the cars operate on mixed fuel, 2.1 percent on diesel fuel, and 0.1 percent on LPG.

As of Mar. 1, 2021, insurance companies made 12,968 payments worth 5.7 billion tenge (approximately $13.1 million) on Compulsory Civil Liability Insurance of Vehicle Owners.

By a decree of Kazakhstan's President Kassym Jomart Tokayev, as a result of the spreading coronavirus pandemic, a quarantine regime has been introduced in a number of Kazakh cities and regions, thus restricting transportation and use of personal vehicles.

Due to the introduced restrictions, the number of car accidents has significantly decreased all across the country.
