Central Bank of Azerbaijan unveils volume of loans issued to Azerbaijani gov't agencies

The Azerbaijani banks issued the loans worth 700,000 manat ($411,764) to the governmental agencies as of early March 2021, Trend reports on April 23 with reference to Central Bank of Azerbaijan’s (CBA) statistics data.

This figure has remained virtually unchanged since May 2020. However, it decreased by 200,000 manat ($117,647) - 22.2 percent on an annualized basis.

The biggest share of loans issued in Azerbaijan during the reporting period accounted for households - 6.8 billion manat ($4 billion) or 46.3 percent of the total volume of lending to the real sector.

The volume of loans issued to other sectors during the reporting period amounted to 534.7 million manat ($314.5 million), which is by 23.2 percent, or 161.3 million manat ($94.9 million), less than in the same period of 2020.

The share of lending to other sectors in lending to the real sector amounted to 3.7 percent, which is by 0.7 percent less than in the same period of last year.

Lending to the real sector of Azerbaijan's economy during the reporting period amounted to 14.6 billion manat ($8.6 billion), which is by 1.08 billion manat ($635 million), or 6.9 percent less than in the same period of last year.
