ADB updates forecast of Turkmenistan's GDP growth rate

Asian Development Bank (ADB) expects Turkmenistan’s GDP growth rate to be 4.8 percent in 2021 and 4.9 percent in 2022, Trend reports with reference to ADB's outlook.

Thus, Turkmenistan’s GDP growth rate was 6.3 percent in 2019 and 1.6 percent in 2020

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan’s inflation is expected to decline from 10 percent in 2020 to 8 percent in 2021 and stay at the same level in 2022.

The statistics show that mentioned 10 percent inflation in 2020 is also a decline from 13 percent in 2019.

As reported, in September 2020, ADB updated its forecast for Turkmenistan’s economy according to which the expected GDP growth rate remained at 3.2 percent in 2020.

ADB also updated its forecast for the country for 2021, where no changes were made, which means the last forecast of 5.8 percent of GDP growth remains the same.

According to ADB's forecast, Turkmenistan's inflation rate in 2020 increases from 8.0 percent in the last review to 10.0 percent, for 2021, it is expected to decrease back to 8.0 percent.
