The average monthly nominal salary of workers in Azerbaijan’s Baku city amounted to 901 manat ($530) in January 2021, Trend reports citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, in 2020, the average monthly salary of workers in Baku increased by 6.9 percent compared to 2019 and amounted to 927.2 manat ($545.4).
Thanks to comprehensive social reforms carried out on the basis of the relevant instructions of the president of Azerbaijan, the minimum salary in the country was increased to 250 manat ($147), which significantly affected the salaries of civil servants, employees of a number of budgetary institutions, enterprises and organizations, and of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
