The total volume of securities transactions at the Baku Stock Exchange in the first five months of 2021 greatly increased (by 79 percent) compared to the corresponding period of last year, Trend reports on June 3 with reference to the data of the Baku Stock Exchange.
In accordance with the data, the volume of transactions in securities at the country's stock exchange exceeded 6.9 billion manat ($4.05 billion).
An increase of 107 percent was observed in the primary capital market, an increase of 100 percent in the state securities market and an increase of 240 percent in REPO transactions during the reporting period.
The capitalization of the Baku Stock Exchange increased by nine percent as of the last trading day of May 2021 compared to the beginning of the year, amounting to 4.2 billion manat ($2.5 billion).
The volume of transactions in the primary securities market exceeded 3.9 billion manat ($2.3 billion), in the secondary market - 690 million manat ($405 million) and the volume of securities transactions reached 2.3 billion manat ($1.3 billion) in the repo market by early June 2021.
