A surplus was observed in the Azerbaijani state budget for the first five months of 2021, Trend reports on June 14 with reference to the report of the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
The revenues of the Azerbaijani state budget exceeded 9.7 billion manat ($5.7 billion) from January through May 2021, which is 7.5 percent less than from January through May 2020.
The expenditures of the Azerbaijani state budget are estimated at 9.4 billion manat ($5.5 billion) from January through May 2021, which is 0.3 percent less compared to the same period of 2020.
As a result, a surplus worth 368.9 million manat ($217 million) was formed in the budget as of early June 2021.
The nominal volume of Azerbaijan's GDP reached 31.5 billion manat ($18.5 billion) from January through May 2021. Thus, the state budget surplus equaled 1.2 percent of Azerbaijan's GDP.
The revenues of the Azerbaijani state budget reached more than 24.7 billion manat ($14.5 billion), expenses - 26.4 billion manat ($15.5 billion) as of 2020.
As a result, a deficit worth 1.7 billion manat ($1 billion) or 2.4 percent of Azerbaijan's GDP was formed in the budget as of 2020.
