Russia accounts for largest number of enterprises with foreign direct investment in Uzbekistan

The largest number of enterprises with foreign direct investment operating in Uzbekistan as of June 1 account for Russia, amounting to 2,229, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the number of enterprises and organizations with foreign capital registered in Uzbekistan as of June 1, 2021 amounts to 13,200, of which 12,700 enterprises are currently operating.

It is reported that the number of operating enterprises with foreign capital in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year increased by 1,648.

At the same time, the largest number of enterprises with foreign direct investment operating in Uzbekistan during the reporting period was noted in Russia - 2,229, China – 1,893, Turkey – 1,744, Kazakhstan – 999, South Korea - 902

In addition, 201 newly created enterprises in Uzbekistan with foreign direct investment capital from January through May 2021 fell on Turkey, 158 – Russia, 121 – China, 98 – Kazakhstan and 38 enterprises fell on South Korea.

Earlier Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan reported that Uzbekistan projects the volume of direct foreign investments to reach $7.6 billion at the end of 2021, which will exceed the results of 2020 by 18.8 percent.

According to the results of 4M2021, the volume of foreign direct investment within the framework of the State and regional investment programs amounted to $1.8 billion.

At the same time, within the framework of the State Investment Program, 19 projects were put into operation in the amount of $696 million, due to which more than 5,000 new jobs were created, and within the framework of regional investment programs, 2,961 projects were commissioned for the amount of $1.2 billion, which made it possible to create 32,600 new jobs.
