Iran’s CBI shares data on loans issued in agricultural sector

Iranian banks issued loans worth 139 trillion rials (about $3.3 billion) in the agricultural sector of the country, during first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, about 25.1 trillion rials (about $597 million) worth of loans were issued for the establishment of enterprises and the planting of gardens, and arable lands in the agricultural sector.

In addition, 102 trillion rials (about $2.42 billion) worth of loans were issued as working capital in the agricultural sector, the statistics said.

"The loans worth 649 billion rials (about $15.4 million) were issued for repair work in the agricultural sector of Iran within the two months," the statistics said.

According to the statistics, at the same time, 7.65 trillion rials (about $182 million) worth of loans were issued for the development of Iran's agricultural sector.

Moreover, 757 billion rials (about $18 million) worth of loans were issued for the purchase of personal assets in the agricultural sector, 183 billion rials (about 4.35 million) for the purchase of housing, and 2.65 trillion rials (about $63.2 million) for other purposes, the statistics said.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 2.74 quadrillion rials (about $65.2 billion) in various economic sectors in the first two months of the current Iranian year. This an increase of 46.6 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
