More than $1.2 billion worth of foreign investment was attracted in Iran's Tehran Province over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Director General of the Economic Affairs and Finance Department of Tehran Province Farzaneh Dehnadi told IRNA, Trend reports.
The director general noted that foreign investment at this amount was attracted in connection with 27 plans.
“If a number of problems, such as US sanctions against Iran, the economic situation in Iran and its risks, did not exist, the attraction of foreign investment in Tehran Province would undoubtedly be much more,” he added.
In addition to the financial support of foreign investment plans, the transfer of technology to the country, raising the level of technology, production of quality products, raising the level of services, development of exports, in general, make a great contribution to economic development, according to Dehnadi.
