The biggest part in the structure of expenditures of the Azerbaijani state budget accounted for current costs as of the first half of 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance.
According to the ministry, this indicator amounted to 7.6 billion manat ($4.5 billion), which is 66 percent of the total budget expenditures.
Some 3.05 billion manat ($1.8 billion) or 26.4 percent, accounted for capital expenditures, up by 500.2 million manat ($294.2 million) or 19.6 percent compared to the period from January to June 2020.
About 883.5 million manat ($519.7 million) or 7.6 percent accounted for servicing public debt and liabilities, which is growth of 2.8 million manat ($1.6 million) or 0.3 percent per annum.
In the reporting period, the largest growth was recorded in spending on defense and national security. Compared to the first half of 2020, the spending on this field grew by 1.08 billion manat ($640 million) or 73.9 percent, and on health care – by 163.5 million manat ($96.1 million) or 24.6 percent.
Meanwhile, the largest decrease accounted for spending on housing and communal services. The spending on this field lowered by 33.8 million manat ($19.8 million) or 31.6 percent.
In the first half of this year, the expenditures of the Azerbaijani state budget amounted to 11.59 billion manat ($6.82 billion), thus having decreased by 140.3 million manat ($82.5 million) or 1.2 percent.
