Fees in Azerbaijan's voluntary medical insurance down

Fees on the segment of voluntary medical insurance in Azerbaijan have slightly lowered in the first half of 2021, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) regulating the local insurance market.

According to the CBA, this indicator amounted to 70.7 million manat ($41.6 million), thus decreasing by 1.4 percent compared to the first half of 2020 (71.8 million manat or $42.2 million).

Insurance payments for voluntary medical insurance from January to June of this year amounted to 32.2 million manat ($18.9 million), while a year earlier - 35.5 million manat ($20.8 million). Thus, on annual basis, payments for this type of insurance decreased by 9.4 percent.

Totally, through the first six months of 2021, Azerbaijani insurance companies have collected over 452 million manat ($265 million) of insurance premiums and paid 248 million manat ($145.8 million).
