Lending to the sphere of trade and services in Azerbaijan amounted to 2.56 billion manat ($1.5 billion) in the first 7 months of 2021, having risen 7.6 percent compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
According to the CBA statistics, short-term loans in the specifying sphere amounted to 751 million manat ($441.7 million) or 29.4 percent of the total volume of lending. At the same time, loans in national currency accounted for 510.4 million manat ($300.2 million), and in foreign – 240.6 million manat ($141.5 million).
Meanwhile, long-term loans made up 1.8 billion manat ($1.06 billion) or 70.6 percent of the total volume of issued loans. Loans worth over 1.24 billion manat ($729.4 million) were provided in the national currency, while in foreign currency – 556.8 million manat ($327.5 million).
Over the reporting period, in the sphere of trade and services, loans were mainly issued to private institutions, and mostly in national currency (1.75 billion manat ($1.03 billion) or 68.7 percent of the total volume of lending to this sphere)
The specific share of the lending to the mentioned sector in lending to the real sector amounted to 16.7 percent, having grown in annual terms by 0.4 percentage points.
