Central Bank of Iran shares data on loans issued for housing, construction sector

Banks in Iran issued loans worth 460 trillion rials (about $10.9 billion) in the housing and construction sector in Iran, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to statistics, about 94.4 trillion rials (about $2.26 billion) worth of loans was issued for construction work in the housing and construction sector within the first five months.

In addition, Iranian banks issued loans worth 163 trillion rials (about $3.88 billion) as working capital in this sector.

Over the reporting period, 78.3 trillion rials (about $1.86 billion) worth of loans was issued for repair work and 47.5 trillion rials (about $1.13 billion) for development work in the housing and construction sector.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 97 billion rials (about $2.3 million) for the purchase of personal assets in the housing and construction sector, 72.9 trillion rials (about $1.73 billion) for the purchase of housing, and 3.1 trillion rials (about $73.8 million) for other purposes.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 9 quadrillion rials (about $214 billion) in various economic sectors in the first four months of the current Iranian year. This figure stood at 3.05 quadrillion rials (about $72.7 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
