Kazakhstan unveils value of payments of compulsory vehicle insurance

The number of registered cars in Kazakhstan amounted to 504,027 vehicles over the period from January through July 2021, which is 21.8 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

As of August 1, 2021, the total number of passenger cars registered in Kazakhstan amounted to 3.8 million.

The committee noted that 86 percent of registered cars work on gasoline. Some 11.8 percent of the cars operate on mixed fuel, 2.1 percent on diesel fuel, and 0.1 percent on LPG.

The number of registered car accidents amounted to 7,180 cases over the course of the months, which is 14.5 percent more than during the same period of 2020. Some 10,550 people were injured in these accidents.

As of August 1, 2021, insurance companies made 48,104 payments worth 21.3 billion tenge (approximately $50.1 million) on Compulsory Civil Liability Insurance of Vehicle Owners.
