The value of money transfers send to Kazakhstan from abroad amounted to 98,300 transfers worth 24.3 billion tenge ($57.2 million) in August 2021, which is 1.3 percent more in volume and 1.7 percent more in value than in July 2021, Kazakhstan’s National Bank told Trend.
The Bank said that the largest value of money transfers sent to Kazakhstan accounted for transfers sent from Russia, Uzbekistan, and South Korea.
Thus, some 39,900 money transfers worth 5.07 billion tenge ($11.9 million) were sent to Kazakhstan from Russia. This is 0.7 percent more in volume and 5.8 percent less in value compared to last month.
Furthermore, the value of funds sent from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan amounted to 3.6 billion tenge ($8.6 million), and the volume of carried out money transfers equaled 6,600. This is 6 percent more in volume and 14.6 percent more in value.
In turn, some 3.1 billion tenge ($7.5 million) worth of funds was sent to Kazakhstan from South Korea via 5,800 money transfers. This is 3.4 percent less in volume and 7 percent less in value.
