Iran sees increase in issuance of loans by Post Bank of Iran

The loans issued by the Post Bank of Iran increased by 72 percent in terms of value and 56 percent in number, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), Trend reports citing the bank’s website.

According to the report, the bank issued loans worth 101 trillion rials (about $2.41 billion) to 151,000 people in 7 months.

About 53 percent of the loans were issued in communication and information technologies and services, 21.5 percent in agriculture, 14 percent in industry and mining, 9.5 percent in trade, and 2 percent in housing and construction sectors.

The number of loans issued in the communications and information technologies and services sector for 7 months, increased by 10 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

As reported, the Post Bank of Iran has 6,500 branches in the country.
