Kazakhstan discloses amount of insurance premiums transferred for reinsurance

The volume of insurance premiums transferred for reinsurance in Kazakhstan in September 2021 amounted to 2.3 billion tenge ($5.4 million) and as of October 1 reached 85.5 billion tenge ($199.3 million) or 16.4 percent of the total volume of insurance premiums, Trend reports with reference to the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of Financial Market.

The main amount of insurance premiums as of October 1 was transferred for reinsurance to non-residents of Kazakhstan - 92.0 percent or 78.6 billion tenge ($183.2 million), of which the main amount accounted for Great Britain.

The total amount of insurance premiums accepted by insurance (reinsurance) organizations under reinsurance contracts for September 2021 amounted to 1.6 billion tenge ($3.7 million) and as of October 1 reached 52.2 billion tenge ($121.7 million).

At the same time, the amount of insurance premiums accepted for reinsurance from non-residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan is 46.1 billion tenge ($107.5 million).

The amount of reimbursement of expenses for risks transferred for reinsurance in September 2021 amounted to 0.6 billion tenge ($1.4 million) and as of October 1 reached 5.9 billion tenge ($13.7 million) or 6.7 percent of total insurance payments for this period.
