The volume of loans issued by banks for the construction sector increased by 410.2 million manat ($241.3 million) or 83.2 percent in Azerbaijan in 2021compared to 2020 up to 903.2 million manat ($531.3 million), Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Short-term loans issued to legal entities in this sector amounted to 235.5 million manat ($138.5 million), of which 147.5 million manat ($86.8 million) accounted for loans in the national currency while 88 million manat ($51.8 million) accounted for loans in foreign currency.
Long-term loans issued to legal entities amounted to 387.6 million manat ($228 million) in 2021, of which 240.5 million manat ($141.5 million) accounted for loans in the national currency while 147.1 million manat ($86.5 million) accounted for loans in foreign currency.
The share of the construction sector in lending for the real sector amounted to 5.3 percent, which is 1.9 percent more than in 2020.
