BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. The value of Kazakhstan’s monetary base amounted to 9.8 trillion tenge ($22.8 billion) in May 2022, which is 0.9 percent less than as in April 2022 and is 9.9 percent less than in December 2021, Trend reports with reference to the data of Kazakhstan’s National Bank.

"The narrow reserve money equaled 7.03 trillion tenge ($16.2 billion), which is 2.8 percent less than last month and 1.3 percent more than in December 2021," the report said.

"In turn, the value of the currency in circulation stood at 3.07 trillion tenge ($7.1 billion), which is 1 percent less than last month and 2.6 percent more than in December 2021," the statement said.

M1 money aggregate decreased by 1.4 percent since the beginning of the year and amounted to 8.3 trillion tenge ($19.3 billion), whereas M2 money aggregate decreased by 1.2 percent and equaled 22.9 trillion tenge ($52.8 billion).

"The broad money value amounted to 28.3 trillion tenge ($65.4 billion), which is down by 2.3 percent compared to last month and by 5.9 percent compared to December 2021," the report said.
