BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5. The transaction amount via internet banking totaled 97.3 billion manat ($57.2 billion), increasing by 65 percent in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the "Payment system review" of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, the number of transactions from current bank accounts of customers amounted to 111.7 million worth 151.1 billion manat ($88.888 billion) from January through June 2022.
Meanwhile, 79 percent of all operations (88.5 million) amounting to 116 billion manat, or $68.2 billion (77 percent) were carried out via digital banking.
The amount of transactions through mobile banking grew by 2.8 times compared to the first half of 2021, reaching 4.5 billion manat ($2.6 billion).
As of July 1, 2022, out of 26 Azerbaijani banks, 25 banks provided Internet banking services, while 22 – mobile banking.
