BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Azerbaijan's non-performing loans (NPLs) made up 659.7 million manat ($387.5 million) from January through August 2022, down by 27 percent compared to the same period of 2021, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan told Trend.

As of September 1, 2022, problem loans decreased by 0.4 percent compared to August 1, and 8.3 percent against January 1, 2022.

Following the August results, overdue loans accounted for 3.4 percent of the total loan portfolio of the country's banks. At the end of 2021, this figure totaled 4.2 percent, while as of the beginning of September 2021, it stood at 5.8 percent.
