BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22.The monthly inflation rate in Iran increased by 48.1 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).

The statistics show that families spent an average of 48.1 percent more on products and services in the 8th month of the current Iranian year compared to the same month last Iranian year.

The monthly increase in prices of food, soft drinks, and tobacco products in Iran was 67.7 percent in the eighth month, while in the non-food and services sector was 36.9 percent, according to the statistics.

At the same time, the monthly inflation rate in Iran for the 8th month decreased by 0.5 percent compared to the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2022).

Within the 8th month, the monthly inflation rate in Iranian cities was 47.3 percent. This is 0.4 percent less than in the 7th month.

Meanwhile, in villages in Iran, the monthly inflation rate was 52.3 percent for the 8-th month. This is a decrease of 0.9 percent compared to the 7th month.

Annual inflation rate in the country (November 22, 2021 through November 21, 2022), was 44 percent. This is an increase of 1.1 percent compared to the previous period (November 21, 2020 through November 21, 2021).

At the end of the 8th month of the current Iranian year, the annual inflation rate was 43.3 percent in Iranian cities, while - 47.4 percent in villages. This shows an increase of 1 percent in cities and 1.2 percent in villages compared to the previous period.
