BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 1. The volume of card transactions of foreign citizens decreased by 16.22 percent or 33.2 million manat ($19.5 million) in January 2023 in Azerbaijan, Trend reports via the country's Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.
According to the center, this figure totaled 171.5 million manat ($100.8 million).
In general, foreign bank card transactions in Azerbaijan totaled 2.2 billion manat ($1.2 billion).
Foreign citizens' card transactions increased by 10.95 percent in December 2022, reaching a total of 190.5 million manat ($112.06 million), which is 18.8 million manat ($11.06 million) more than in the same month of 2021.
In November 2022, foreign citizens spent 158.1 million manat ($93 million) in Azerbaijan via bank cards, while in October - 149 million manat ($87.6 million), in September - 155.5 million manat ($91.4 million), in August - 214.6 million manat ($126.2 million), in July - 213.6 million manat ($125.6 million), and in June they spent 203.6 million manat ($119.7 million).
Overall, the volume of non-cash payments amounted to 58.5 billion manat ($34.4 billion) in 2022 in Azerbaijan, which is 56.26 percent, or 21.1 billion manat ($12.4 billion) higher than in 2021.
