BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 20. Banks in Iran issued loans worth approximately 2.16 quadrillion rials (about $51.3 billion) in the housing and construction sector, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to statistics, 1.02 quadrillion rials (about $24.4 billion) worth of loans were issued for construction work in the housing and construction sector within 11 months.

Also, Iranian banks issued loans worth approximately 963 trillion rials (about $22.9 billion) as working capital in this sector for the reporting period.

During 11 months, 61.5 trillion rials (about $1.46 billion) worth of loans were issued for development work in the housing and construction sector, as well as 1.28 trillion rials ($30.5 million) for self-employment.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 17.1 trillion rials (about $409 million) for the purchase of housing in the housing and construction sector, 87.8 trillion rials (about $2.09 billion) for repair work and 1.06 trillion rials (about $25.3 million) for purchase of personal assets.

Overall, the Iranian banks issued loans worth approximately 36.7 quadrillion rials (about $874 billion) in various economic sectors in the country during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year.
