Azerbaijan sees increase in volume of loans issued to households

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. The largest amount of loans issued in Azerbaijan as of March 1, 2023, fell on households (56.8 percent of total lending), Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, in the mentioned period, loans granted to households grew by 2.6 billion manat ($1.5 billion), or 29.06 percent year on year, from 8.9 billion manat ($5.2 billion) to 11.5 billion manat ($6.7 billion).

Meantime, lending to trade and services increased by 203.9 million manat ($119.9 million) or 6.71 percent in a year, from 3.03 billion manat ($1.78 billion) to 3.2 billion manat ($1.8 billion). The specific weight of the field of trade and services in the total volume of lending amounted to 15.9 percent.

Lending to the real sector of the Azerbaijani economy rose by 15.69 percent, or 2.7 billion manat ($1.59 billion) as of March 1, 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, from 17.58 billion manat ($10.34 billion) to 20.3 billion manat ($11.9 billion).
