BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 31. The volume of card transactions of foreign citizens in Azerbaijan from January through February 2023 decreased by 14.67 percent to 57.4 million manat ($33.7 million), totaling 333.8 million manat ($196.3 million), compared to the reporting months year on year, Trend reports via the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan.
According to the source, in February 2023, foreign citizens in Azerbaijan carried out transactions in the amount of 162.3 million manat ($95.4 million) via bank cards, and in January - 171.5 million manat ($100.8 million).
Moreover, by the end of 2022, foreign citizens in Azerbaijan made transactions worth 2.2 billion manat ($1.2 million) using bank cards.
Only in December 2022, transactions of foreign citizens on bank cards increased by 10.95 percent, totaling 190.5 million manat ($112 million), which is 18.8 million manat ($11 million) more than in the same month of 2021.
In November 2022, foreign citizens spent 158.1 million ($93 million) in Azerbaijan via bank cards, while in October spending amounted to 149 million manat ($87.6 million), in September - to 155.5 million manat ($91.4 million), in August - to 214.6 million manat ($126.2 million), in July - to 213.6 million manat ($125.6 million), and in June - to 203.6 million manat ($119.7 million).
