BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. The total assets of banks in Azerbaijan exceeded 45.5 billion manat ($26.7 billion), total liabilities - 39.7 billion manat ($23.3 billion), and total capital - 5.8 billion manat ($3.4 billion) as of April 30, 2023, Trend reports.
The data of the Central Bank shows that assets, liabilities, as well as capital of the banking sector increased by 13.53, 13.12 and 16.46 percent, respectively, compared to the same period in 2022.
The loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks increased by 14.23 percent, or 2.5 billion manat ($1.4 billion) compared to the indicator as of April 30, 2022, and reached 20.3 billion manat ($11.9 billion).
Meanwhile, total liabilities amounted to 39.7 billion manat ($23.3 billion), and net profit of the banking sector amounted to 345.2 million manat ($203 million), an increase of 39.14 percent or 97 million manat ($57 million) over the year, as of April 30.
