The volume of card transactions of foreign citizens in Azerbaijan decreased by 2.19 percent (19.1 million manat or $11.2 million) from January through May 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year, to 851.3 million manat or $500.7 million (870.4 million manat or $511.9 in the same period last year), Trend reports.
According to the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan, foreign citizens in Azerbaijan made transactions in the amount of 173.4 million manat ($101.9 million) via bank cards (a decrease of 5.81 percent, or 10.7 million manat or $6.3 million) in May 2023,
Moreover, foreign citizens in Azerbaijan made card transactions in the amount of 171.5 million manat ($100.8 million) - in January, 162.3 million manat ($95.4 million) - in February, 218.1 million manat ($128.2 million) - in March, 126 million manat ($74.1 million) - in April.
Meanwhile, foreign citizens in Azerbaijan made transactions in the amount of 2.2 billion manat ($1.2 billion) using bank cards by the end of 2022.
