ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 3. The total assets of all registered credit institutions in Turkmenistan as of June 1, 2023, amounted to over 154.1 billion Turkmen manats ($44.1 billion), Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, this is 9.4 percent more than the same date last year (140.79 billion Turkmen manats, or $40.29 billion).
Of the total assets, loans issued to credit institutions, enterprises, organizations, and citizens at the beginning of April 2023 amounted to 121.05 billion Turkmen manats ($34.64 billion), which is 7.6 percent more than in the same month of 2022 (112.46 billion Turkmen manats, or $32.19 billion).
At the specified time, correspondent accounts in the Central Bank of Turkmenistan and funds in reserve accounts increased by 42.6 percent compared to the beginning of June 2022 (13.68 billion Turkmen manats, or $3.91 billion), amounting to 19.52 billion Turkmen manats ($5.58 billion).
Meanwhile, according to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the official exchange rate of the Turkmen manat against the US dollar on August 3, 2023, is set at 3.5 manat per USD.
