BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. The Azerbaijani population's bank deposits (including funds of individual entrepreneurs) grew by 8.6 percent up to 12.7 billion manat ($7.4 billion) from January through June 2023 on an annual basis, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the population's bank deposits in national currency increased by 13.3 percent to 8.08 billion manat ($4.75 billion) in the reporting period, accounting for 63.4 percent of all deposits of the population.
The volume of deposits of the population in the national currency increased by 1.3 percent to 4.6 billion manat ($2.7 billion), accounting for 36.6 percent of all deposits.
The volume of bank deposits of residents amounted to 11.4 billion manat ($6.7 billion), and non–residents - 1.3 billion manat ($764.7 million) as of July 1, 2023. Meanwhile, deposits of residents increased by 8.1 percent, and non-residents - by 12.9 percent.
The total amount of contributions and deposits in banks was 34.5 billion manat ($20.29 billion) as of July 1 this year, which is 4.8 percent less than as of late 2022.
The bank deposits of the population in Azerbaijan (including funds of individual entrepreneurs) amounted to 11.7 billion manat ($6.8 billion) in 2022.
