BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. About 4.48 quadrillion rials (about $107 billion) of the funds planned in the state budget of Iran have been provided during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), the head of Iran's Plan and Budget Organization, Davoud Manzoor, said in his speech in the Iranian parliament, Trend reports.
"Meanwhile, 7.07 quadrillion rials (about $168 billion) are planned to be provided in the state budget within 4 months. This means 63.5 percent of the planned funds have been provided," Manzoor noted.
The chief also added that in total, 20.8 quadrillion rials (about $496 billion) are planned to be provided in the country's annual state budget for the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).
Speaking about the country’s crude oil exports, Manzoor said that, as stipulated in the budget, Iran exports 1.4 million barrels of crude oil daily. However, due to the sanctions imposed by the United States against Iran, its revenues are transferred to Iran with some delay.
On May 8, 2018, the US announced its withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and the 5+1 group (Russia, China, the UK, France, the US, and Germany) and imposed new sanctions against Iran as of November 2018.
Over the past period, the sanctions affected Iranian oil exports and more than 700 banks, companies, and individuals. The sanctions have resulted in the freezing of Iranian assets abroad.
