ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 21. The total volume of non-cash payments in Turkmenistan under the 'Digital Commerce' system from January through July 2023 amounted to 604.38 million Turkmen manats ($172.5 million), Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, during the specified period, these figures are 82.3 percent more than similar figures for the first 7 months of last year (331.47 million Turkmen manats or $94.61 million).
During the specified period, the total amount of payments through the 'Mobile Bank' system amounted to 5.56 million Turkmen manats ($1.58 million), and through the 'Internet Bank' system - 939,790 Turkmen manats ($268,230).
At the same time, from January through July of this year, the total amount of payments through the 'Mobile Bank' system amounted to 10.34 million Turkmen manats ($2.95 million), and through the Internet Bank system - 1,28 Turkmen manats ($365,340).
Furthermore, in the specified month, the total non-cash turnover through the 'Halkbank terminal' system amounted to 16.62 million Turkmen manats ($4.74 million).
Meanwhile, the Turkmenistan's financial industry is continuously growing. Specifically, mobile apps are being introduced for the payment of diverse services and products, the volume of electronic transactions is on the rise, and the settlement for merchandise and services is being facilitated via banking terminals.
